Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)

Since 1 January 2008, companies established in the European Union and involved in customs operations can apply for this status (AEO). The aim is to secure the integrated international supply chain ("supply chain") from the manufacturer of a product to the end consumer. On 27 May 2009, Westar Internationale Spedition GmbH was certified under the number DE AEOF 100959 as an authorized economic operator. An Authorized Economic Operator has a special status: it is considered to be particularly reliable and trustworthy and can benefit from special customs clearance privileges.
